Impatient Optimists!

Big news! The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation generously offered to match $1 million in donations on GlobalGiving on #GivingTuesday!

On #GivingTuesday that is Tuesday, November 29, people across the world mobilized to support their favorite charities. Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation teamed up to match donations collected through Facebook fundraisers on that day to the tune of $1 million. The San Francisco Branch's Asilomar Weekend participated in the Facebook Fundraiser which offered us the possibility of receiving matching funds up to $1,000.

We were thrilled to achieve a total of $1,082 of donations from attendees and friends. These donations were matched by funds from an anonymous donor.
