Hood, Wink & Swagger

Hood, Wink & Swagger, that is Gary Thomas on piano, Ron Wallace on recorder and pipes, and Steve Wyrick on fiddle will be our musicians for the Asilomar Weekend's Saturday night's Kim McGarrity Memorial Ball.

California based Hood, Wink & Swagger came together as a band in 2004 and has played at the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, the Asilomar Weekend, the San Francisco Branch's Valentine's Ball and other venues. They annually play in Southern California for their Christmas Ball.

In 2006, the band recorded Dancers Dream, a double CD set of step dance music. Muriel Johnson observed that " the musicians are thoroughly enjoying themselves drawing us, as dancers and listeners, into the joy of the music and dance." "Ron, Steve and Gary provide an enormous variation of color and texture through imaginative use of the instrumentation, delicious harmonies, and vibrant rhythms."

At Asilomar, Gary Thomas, Ron Wallace and Steve Wyrick will be joined by guests Lisa Doyle, Erik Ievins and Donald Robertson. We are stoked! Can't wait for November!
