First Time to Asilomar or Returning?
The Asilomar Committee welcomes everyone, whether here for the very first time or returning. If this is your first time attending the Asilomar Weekend , and you'd like the inside scoop on getting around, how to get to the Asilomar State Beach and the Dunes, where to find some dance pumps or ghillies, or where classes will be held, meet us in Heathside at 5pm Friday for a fast tour of the grounds and some tips for the Weekend.
To familiarize yourself with the Asilomar Conference Grounds, here's our annotated map with the main facilities we'll be using marked with yellow stars.
As a reminder, before you check-in, register and pick up your room card key at Heathside, plan on either temporarily parking your car near the Hearst Social Hall or behind Pirates Den, and then come up to Heathside, which is located inside Merrill Hall. These two car parks are marked with red stars on the map.
Check-in formally starts at 3:00pm, but if you arrive a bit early, no problem. Come on in! Room key cards will only be activated at 4pm. If you do arrive at Asilomar early and want to eat, head over to Asiloma's Phoebe Cafe located in the Hearst Social Hall for a light snack, lunch or a drink. Sit inside or relax outside on the nearby newly renovated deck. Alternatively, some attendees like to go over to the nearby low-key seafood Fishwife restaurant. Walk out of Asilomar to the junction of Asilomar Avenue & Sunset Drive. The Fishwife is located at 1996 1/2 Sunset Drive and is marked on the map with a purple star. The menu can be found at www.fishwife.com. Or head toward the Beach and enjoy time at the ocean, or shop in the Asilomar gift store, located in the Hearst Social Hall.
After you register, please linger to greet both old and new friends, check out our raffle prizes and purchase some tickets.
